RE: We bought a 2009 Wildcat yesterday at the Tacoma RV Show

I called the RVW and had the saleman there add up our exact trailer with all the options ours has and add the shipping to Seattle, plus 6% tax, and it was $27,800.
I was surprised it wasn't thousands cheaper than what we are paying. Another mystery.
Sounds like you got a decent deal. I can only assume you bought from Tacoma RV Center. My cousin and his wife bought a bunk house from them last spring and are very happy with the deal they got. Maybe it was someone else, I can't remember if they even sell Wildcats.

RE: Overheight violation -- almost !!!

That is not correct. Some states, including IL, have max legal height of 13'6" which applies even on the interstate highway system.
Any state can have rules that are more stringent or stricter then the federal regs. I was was speaking about what the federal regulations allow. I know there are areas in the east that are restricted to 13'6" as well as many places if not all of Canada. In the end it is up to the operator of said vehicle to know the law in the area they travel.

RE: Overheight violation -- almost !!!

One last recourse is to check with the Manufacturer. They built it and we have not changed a thing so there should be some consideration for making it legal. I am not going to hold my breath. We will see.
Thanks for all of the input. I appreciate it.

You are legal. 14' is the national (USA) height limit on the interstate system. You will still find plenty of old structures that were built for the old 13'6" regs and before that even. I can't see them giving you a ticket unless you ignored warning signs prior to the alarm.

Here are pictures from Packwood,WA Labor Day 2008.
We stay on property owned by a local business owner. We get water, 15amp electric and Elk wandering through all hours of the day and night.

Dossiwallips & Belfair are both great parks.
I have yet to see a WA State Park with a no pet rule. We take our 2 dogs with us when we go.
They do close the gates @ 10pm, but don't lock them. Registered campers are allowed to open gate and enter, closing gate behind you.

RE: 1st rv- dumb ? but what is the button by the brake?

I had a 73 duster and there was a rubber plunger on the floor right next to the highbeam switch. you needed to pump the plunger to spray the windshield!
I had almost forgot about that set up!

RE: Carriage Cameo Slide Problem

Does it seem odd that the OP's dealer is having "new gears made" to replace RBW's "junk parts from China?
On the other hand, that's one great dealer...willing to go the extra mile to have custom parts manufactured to correct another manufacturer's design flaw.
Yeah, that would not be cheap. Last I heard on the subject was that RBW knew they had issues with design changed made for the 2008 units and were working on it. I would imagine a company that wants to stay in business would be willing to fix these issues.

Oh, and Laura, she wants to check the "native american" box on job applications cuz she figures if she was born here in the U.S., so that makes her a native and an american. :R

RE: Carriage Cameo Slide Problem

The slide gear problems are not made up. However I don't think they are near as wide spread as first thought. They seem to affect the 2008 SBQ Cameos more then any of the other units from what I understand. Go figure, the SBQ is their most popular floor plan in the Cameo line.

Really enjoy seeing the younger folks getting in the RV scene. We were starting to wonder if we were youngsters at Rving in our late 30's. Welcome!
